Keep on Following Jesus
I was listening to Jerry Savelle a couple of weeks ago, who has now gone home to the Lord. One of his statements was ‘Keep on progressing if you look at where you were a year ago and you are still in the same place now then you are not moving’. It got me to thinking about my own life, and I wrote down a couple of areas that I seemed to be stagnant in and I have started praying differently around those areas and more specifically.
That is to say, I am speaking and asking then thanking God for the answers it does not mean guaranteed answers. However, I am opening up to God more and trusting Him more through this. It is also strengthening my faith. Prayer is about a conversation with God and to pray specifically is a great way to increase your trust and confidence in God Almighty for He is a BIG GOD, AMEN.
Now this is the confidence we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. Amen.
What we ask for should line up with His promises or word in the Bible.
Sometimes we can have dreams and visions that have been supressed inside of us and forgotten, sometimes we limit ourselves to what God can actually do. Praying is one of the most powerful gifts that God has given us.
We have been chosen by God chosen specifically and transmitted from nothing to something specifically whatever that might be to each of us individually. Sometimes we do not believe God is interested in the details of our lives as we may feel insignificant, yet he knows the very hairs on our heads.
Mathew 10:26-31
Are two sparrows sold for a penny yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Fathers care. And even the hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
Bit of knowledge
The average human head has around 100,000 hairs.
So, let’s take this a bit further do you think you should be moving on in a particular area in your life then perhaps its time to move onwards. Now I am very much aware that sometimes we are to wait on Gods timing however He has also given us a brain alongside wisdom which we have been learning a bit more about in the last couple of weeks. he has given us wisdom and common sense so taking some steps to change what we are wanting to change we first need to pray specifically.
Areas may be Healing / Finance / ministry/ family salvation/ marriage difficulties/ work situations / holiday/
Let’s look at
John 5:1-15
1: Do you want to get well?
2: Get up – He had been sitting there for 38 years.
3: pick up your bed – He had depended on that bed it was in his comfort zone perhaps he did not want change. He was capable of so much more, yet he did not want to move. Are you in a comfort zone happy to accept what you have this limits God?
4: Walk
5: People will talk it will not be right /who do you think you are / you should not be doing that /you don’t deserve it / etc.
Perhaps its time to push a door and do something this takes courage and faith however with it being covered in prayer God has you protected.
So perhaps its time to go after that promotion at work /sow a seed for a financial need / start up a ministry/ book that holiday etc.
Its not going to happen just because you are a Christian it will take prayer and a step of faith trusting God for the outcome.
Being a disciple of Christ is a commitment so we should not be moved or directed by how the world does it. We are children of the highest God and we all have the gifting inside of us helping us along the way,
Perhaps we just need a new way of thinking and having our minds renewed Amen. (Rom. 12;2)
Another way is when we hear a message, and it stirs our spirits, and we know that if its resonating THEN He is speaking to us. After the message is heard we can leave a meeting and in comes satan with a mindset thought and we think that we have made a mistake and the message was not for me but somebody else STOP and cast that thought out in the name of Jesus, and receive that message stay strong in Him Amen.
Read The Parable about the Sower (Mathew 13:1-23) and soak it in.
And focus on what is written. God knows your thoughts.
