Approaching Life With A Humble Heart

When we get saved, we are not perfect, and we are for the best part in a mess when this happens. Sometimes what we forget is that we are not cleaned up from any messes we were or are in, and we do not understand that there is a lot of change ahead for us in the way we understand and live our lives whereas the plan that Father has for each of us is that He wants to help make us more like Him. However, He loves each of us where we are, and he has given us a free will so any changes will not happen overnight, and we need to be submissive and willing. This put us in a position of vulnerability, and we can tend toward being judgemental and having the wrong attitude particularly toward others who are not yet saved or those who have been saved but still have habits etc. that God has not yet dealt with.

Let’s look at a story that illustrates this.

John 8:1-12 (NKJ)

But Jesus went to the mount of Olives.

Now early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people came to Him; and He sat down and taught them.

3: then the scribes and pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery, and when they had set her in the midst,

4: they said to Him “teacher this woman was caught in adultery in the very act.

5: now Moses in the law commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do you say?

6: this they said testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger as though He did not hear.

7: so, when they continued asking Him, he raised Himself up and said to them He who is without sin let him throw a stone at her first.

8: again, He stooped down and wrote on the ground.

9: Then those who heard it being convicted by their conscience went out one by one beginning with the oldest even to the last. and Jesus was left alone and the woman standing in the midst.

10: when Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her “woman where are those accusers of yours has no one condemned you?”

11: she said no one Lord.

And Jesus said to her neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.

Mathew 7 1-5
Judge not that you be not judged.

2: for what judgement you judge you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you

3: and why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye but do not consider the plank in your own eye. First remove the plank from your own eye and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

Obadiah 1:3

the pride of your heart has deceived you who dwell in the clefts of the rock whose habitation is high; you who say in your heart, who will bring me down.

I would like to relate a testimony I heard re a man called Kirkwood it was in a book he wrote.

He was driving and someone cut out in front of him, and he said a few things that were not complimentary about the driver. Then God spoke to him and said why are you cursing me, and he replied Father, I haven’t cursed you I would never curse you why would you say that. And Father answered and said that person whom you have judged and just cursed is made in my image.

Proverbs 18:21
The tongue has the power of life and death and those who love it will eat its fruit.

Romans 12:14
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.

Now I would like to tell you my own testimony of a very similar experience of how God dealt with me and my relationship with my mother.

Romans 12:2
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

This teaches us to renew our minds and the only way we can do that in any situation is to read the word where Jesus had to deal with a similar situation and learn how He dealt with it how He spoke and what He said and understand that when we long to be Christlike its His example that will help us to change and have a more humble like spirit when we are dealing with others.

Spending quality time with Him and laying down stuff that is not important to do this will never be wasted. We are here on earth passing through our home is in heaven where we will spend eternity.

We want to understand who we are in Jesus and be more like Jesus every day and it takes the laying down of our pride and having the humility to know that we are all flawed in some way and to love and serve others just the way they are is a part of our daily walk. The world is a very hurting place right now I know because my family are part of this world.  I would also say that a great part of the Christian family is also hurting, and we do not know or understand who we are in Him. The time we spend with Father and his word along with the Holy Spirit who lives inside each of us can equip us and help us to be who we are in him today.

Many of us are hanging on to stuff from the past like rejection, unforgiveness, etc.  its time to forgive and let go of the past you can’t go back you can only go forward and hold on to His hand.

Here is a great example from a group of nuns who were saved and God spoke to them in 1949-1952 to build a huge ministry in Germany it’s a modern day story of faith and trust in God and its real for each of us today.

You may be thinking this is for someone else, but I say to you today how far do you want to go in Gods word for your life.

I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. Amen.
