The Journey 2

Mathew 14: 22-34

When reading the bible always pray and ask Father for revelation in what you are reading and some tips to help you are this

What Who Why Where When How

Notice in verse 22 that Jesus constrained them to get into the boat so;

Constrained = forced

Where were they?

They were on the shore so Why did they need constrained?

Well, they were fishermen, and they probably knew there was a storm coming because that’s What they did for a living.

What did Jesus ask them to do? He asked them to go to the other side when you get a word from God just do it when God calls you there is a supernatural enabling.

What did Jesus do He sent the multitudes home and went up the mountain to pray.

How did this all look as if He had sent them out to deliberately die in a storm.

Proverbs 3:5 lean not on your own understanding.

It’s not you’re understanding it’s a level of how much you trust God.

Just be obedient against your own wisdom and put yourself into position.

For instance, you can be in a health storm Put yourself in the right position and come into agreement by speaking and declaring God’s word out loud and thanking Him for His healing.

In a Financial storm do not cut back on giving speak the word give more and put yourself in the right position.

Are you in the position you are in because you are obeying God or doing your own thing?

Gods works is based on your position remember Esther she had to enter the Kings inner court the throne room and she went in prepared she positioned herself.

You need to place yourself in position where God is responsible for you because whatever you sow so shall you reap.

Gal 6:7

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man sows sow he shall reap.

Romans 6:16

Do you not know to whom you present yourself slaves to obey you are that one’s slave whom you obey whether of sin leading to death or of obedience leading to righteousness?

Seek and seek Him and listen to Him there needs to be a desire to live for Him.

There are consequences to our actions take comfort in what God is asking you He knows what He is doing.

When you get a word from God, it qualifies you

Note

  • V24,25 26

The disciples had just come from witnessing a major miracle of feeding the 5000, plus.

WHEN

Now the 4th watch was probably around 3/4am in the morning.

So, Jesus had left them to get on with it. He was on His way to the other side.

How

Jesus was walking on the water He was walking on what they thought was going to kill them.

Mark 6 :48-50

And He would have passed them by.

But they called out and He answered when we are in trouble just call out and know that He will be there with the answer and reassurance that we need. He is there to help us, but He is not going to do it for us, and He will pass by if we do not cry out.

Now In Mark 6 verses 50- 52 they were amazed to see Jesus

Why for they did not understand about the loaves because their hearts were hardened.

Where is your heart on your current circumstances?

They were afraid they were troubled.

Notice that between them they were agreeing on the negative.

What is coming out of your mouth in the circumstances that you are in?

We will go through the storms it’s how

V27 Jesus encouraged and comforted

28+29 Peter then believed trusted and stepped out the boat to walk on water.

But when he took his eyes off Him, he sank.

We need to keep our eyes fixed on what Father has asked us to do – He will take us through.

V31 it will build our faith.

V 32,33,34 you will get to the other side.

There will be opposition – it’s not plain sailing.

You believe to receive God needs our faith before He can do a miracle.

Mark 4:35 Jesus said let US cross over to the other side.

Now note that Jesus did not go physically with them He went to send the multitudes home then went to pray, however He was with them spiritually Jesus is with you 24/7 no matter what He asks you to do He has already gone before you to make a way and all we must do is trust and obey.

Let me summarise this for you when the Father asks you to do something He will

  • Make provision
  • Leave you to get on with it – he is praying for you

John 16: 26 I pray for them not for the world, but for them which you have given me; for they are mine

  • You will come into the storms and tribulations
  • Build your faith – keep your eyes on Him
  • He will get you to where you are going
  • You will increase in maturity, faith, trust & that will enable you to go for bigger dreams
  • You may stumble on route Peter did but fix your eyes and get back up
  • Refuse to quit just keep doing what God is asking you to do

Mark 11:23 For verily I say unto to you, that whosever shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed, and be cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he says shall come to pass; he shall have whatever he says

  • do not doubt in your heart you will fall on this journey but just get back up say you’re sorry and get on with it
  • Don’t wait till all ok doing that is not using your faith and faith is believing and seeing its done before it comes to pass  Hebrews 11:1
  • God blesses what He possesses
  • Jesus knew 2000 years ago our mistakes and that’s why the cross He loves us and wants us to grow, mature and be free in Him
