Proverbs 18:21
Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit.
What is the fruit? the fruit is what we believe say and do in our lives this is what can and will influence who we are. How we speak is one of the most difficult areas in any person’s life to change. Most of us have got a few habits that we do not even realise are there, again I refer to the teaching a couple of weeks ago on our thought life because that is where it all begins.
According to this scripture our words are powerful and can carry faith fear blessing cursing.
We can all carry idle words and how many of us remember the saying from our schooldays sticks and stones can break your bones, but words can never hurt you and reality is that it is the words that hurt and stick with us sometimes all our lives. One of the can do’s that we had last week was to forgive and it’s the most important of them all because forgiveness is mainly about forgiving what somebody has spoken over you or done to you.
God’s word contains the power to bring itself to pass
Isaiah 55 :11
So shall my word that goes forth out of my mouth it shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish what I please and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

The Sower sows the word
When you believe the word and your faith comes together with his faith then the power of that word is released.
An example of that is what happened when you were born again
You heard Gods word you confessed with your mouth the Lord Jesus and you believed God raised Him from the dead and that you would be saved (Romans 10:9) and the power of the Holy spirit was released.
So, if His word can save you what else can it do?
It can accomplish everything you need.
Some steps to help
1: We can start by reminding ourselves of the moment we got saved and all the miracles of what God has already brought to pass in our life i.e., words of knowledge; other family saved; promotion at work; a car, a home, increase in wages / finances /healing / broken habits/
The main reason is that we also now know that in salvation there is an eternity for us and that we will go to be with Him, before salvation we did not have that knowledge.
After salvation a whole new lifestyle opens and one of the first things that God through the Holy Spirit does is gives us eyes to see and ears to hear spiritually. The bible now is revealed to us through our spiritual eyes and ears to an understanding and revelation that can only come through from God.
The list is endless
2: Change your thought world by speaking out and changing your words for instance when you hear yourself speak negatively about a situation repent shut the door to fear and confess 2Tim 1:7 and say I do not receive fear I walk in faith God has not given me a spirit of fear, so I cast it out because according to His word God has given me a Spirit of power love and of a sound mind.
3: Try correcting yourself every time you are aware of speaking in a negative manner
4: Have a friend to be accountable to this will enable you to be more conscious of what you are speaking.
5: Listen to other conversations around you from your neighbours, the supermarket, and yes even inside the church!!! Perhaps then you will be more vigilant in how you have a conversation
6: Bad habits need to be broken and they say it takes 21 days to set up new ones Amen so when you fall just pick yourself up and start again one step at a time.
The minute you start to adjust and change you will be under attack from satan because the last thing he wants is to see is us moving in victory because he wants to keep us defeated. That’s why it is so important to keep the word in us By daily reading and meditating and speak out more on what God is doing in our lives. satan will put a lot of pressure on us to keep thinking and speaking on a negative level.
Example of Fear
In the news there is a lot been said that the supermarket shelves are going to be empty for Christmas this puts fear in the public and then you have panic buying!!!
Instead of agreeing with this all we do is say thank you Lord that you supply all my needs AMEN. Then forget the negative news etc., and trust in God who already knows your needs.

The word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit and of joints and marrow
The words that God speaks are ALIVE let them dwell in you meditate on them be like Joshua1:8 get the word that you need for your situation and meditate on it speak it out as often as you can that’s how it will get into your heart mind and spirit and I know that you all have some scriptures that spring immediately to mind in certain situations because Gods word tells us that the Holy spirit will bring back to your remembrance whatsoever He has said to you John 14:26
God has everything and every situation covered in HIS book called the bible Amen.
Proverbs 4:20-23
My son give attention to my words, incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to all their flesh. Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it springs the issues of life The one thing we need to remember is that our walk and battle is not about our feelings it is about victory in the Spirit.
There are times in our lives when we do not know what to do you just do not think you have the inner resources that you need to do them somehow you have dried up.
1 John 2:14 says you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the wicked one. Everything you need is already there Jesus put it inside faith power love forgiveness believe it and speak it out say this right now
In the name of Jesus, I stir up the gifts which are already within me by faith. I am stirring up my faith, I am not going to wait until I feel stirred up, I am stepping out in faith and expecting my feelings to follow.
Remember you will fall but it’s the getting back up and back on track that counts and one day you will realise that you are stronger than you thought because you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you AMEN.
