The Goodness of God

Proverbs 23:7
For as he thinks in his heart so is he.

How would you like to have more love, more joy, and more peace in your life.

We have spoken over the last couple of weeks about being free in Christ and of some of the things in our lives that can hold us back.

This week I am hoping to encourage us all to step into and walk more in the freedom that Jesus has died to give us just because He loved us and wants each one of us to be free in Him,blessed and enjoying our lives to the fullness if His plan and purpose.

John 6:11
And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks, He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples to those sitting down: and likewise of the fish as much as they wanted.

V 12 when they had eaten their fill then Jesus asked the disciples to gather up the fragments no instructions no limitations just eat what you want as much as they wanted.

Did Jesus know whether they needed it or not?

Why do I think the opposite of this way?

When we were young, we got pocket money, and we were trained to use it frugally because it was a weekly thing and usually related to whatever household chores you had to do to earn the pocket money, and we probably taught our own children much the same. Is this speaking to any of you?

Is your heart right with provision? I reiterate proverbs 23:7

And now remind us of

Romans 12:2
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable will of God.

Ask the Lord is your heart right with His provision or are your perspectives wrong.

Do not be conformed to this religious world either because it will drain the life that God wants for you out of you. Do you want your life to be limited just because of what you have been taught over the years are you frightened to believe what God is saying to you through His word do you believe His word or is it what another human being has taught you.

John 14:26
But the helper the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things I have said unto you.

How many times has the Holy Sirit brought a scripture or something back to your mind when you needed it.

How many times have you thought about having abundantly more or have you stopped those thoughts because!!!

You don’t deserve it!

You’re not good enough!

Its for someone else not for me!

When my business closed, I blamed the Lord, and I went straight into a poverty mindset I also thought I had done something wrong made mistakes that I was to blame I had not done things right etc. Etc.

I went to bible college then onto the mission field then I was a pastor and in all of this I never went short but was always watching my pennies, yet the Lord took care of me my cars were supplied a roof over my head however inside my heart I never felt as if I had any abundance. I had a poverty mindset.

I do not want my life to be limited while I was on mission and even as a pastor, I expected the least however God was trying to teach me something while I was pastoring.

I had sensed He wanted me to start a homeless outreach, and I recall being in the church working one Monday and as I stepped out of the office into the church, and I said to God yes, I would be willing to start a homeless ministry but did not know how so He would need to show me. Within a few weeks it was up and running food and volunteers were pouring in the door and I did not do a thing amazing.

God’s supply was abundant. When He does it there is no shortage.

It’s a poverty restricted mindset that holds people back. It’s not wrong to want more unless its for the wrong reasons and or we have a wrong picture of our Loving Father.

How often have you quoted this scripture to others about your own family

Mathew 7:9-11
Or is there a man among you who if his son asks for bread, he will give him a stone.

What would you give your own child then how do you think your father in heaven wants to give us all so much more.

Psalm 1:1-3

1: Blessed is the man

Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,

Nor stands in the path of sinners,

Nor sits in the seat of the scornful

2: But his delight is in the law of the Lord,

And in His Law, he meditates day and night.

3:H shall be like a tree

Planted by the rivers of water

That brings forth its fruit in its season

Whose leaf also shall not wither:

And whatever he does shall prosper.

Psalm 16:11
You will show me the Path of life, in your presence is fullness and joy,

At your right hand are pleasures forever more.

Psalm 68:19
Blessed be the Lord

Who daily loads us with benefits

The God of our salvation.

Psalm 65
You crown the year with your goodness

And your paths drip with abundance.

2 Cor. 9:8
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you always having all efficiency in all things, may have abundance for every good work.

I have not read anywhere in the bible that I have to earn His love as He loves us unconditionally. Nor have I read that God rations anything??

We limit Him with our shortcomings and our unbelief that we are not good enough.

God gave His only son who went to the cross willingly because He loved us.

John 15: 4
Abide in me and I in you as the branch you cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine neither can you unless you abide in me.

Luke 6:38
Give and it will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over will be put into your bosom, for with the same measure that you use it will be measured back to you.

God does not bless us so that we can keep it He blesses us so that we can bless others, so our hearts have to be right.

Proverbs 23:7
For as he thinks in his heart so is he.

He wants to give us the more than enough.

Psalm 37:4
Delight yourself in the Lord

And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

What are your desires?

have you got Gods mindset?

Are your dreaming big and out of your comfort zone???

Ephesians 3:20
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.

Proverbs 23:7
For as he thinks in his heart so is he.

It’s not wrong to want more there is no lack with God it’s in our mindsets if we read Romans 12:2

Let’s look at this scripture here in

Psalm 37:4
Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.

What desires are in your heart and are they in agreement with Gods word in his bible?

How you see God and how you see yourself are connected you will find it difficult to see the goodness of God when you do not see yourself as He see you a beautiful and wonderful creation that He has made, and He does not make any mistakes.

Prayer
Father in the wonderful name of Jesus we thank you for your goodness. Father we cannot even begin to comprehend just how good you are and as we pray these words in your bible from Corinthians that you can exceedingly and abundantly provide for each one of us and that we see pressed down and running over paths of blessings that are dripping with abundance. Help us not to read over these blessings in your word but to meditate on them and let you renew our minds to your ways of thinking and help us to walk grow and mature in these truths of your words in Jesus mighty name, Amen.
